Job summary

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer to join our hardware engineering team on PAC3.

You will lead hardware teams through development and production, designing electromechanical systems for missile and radar electronics with careful attention to size, weight, power, and environmental constraints.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or closely related STEM field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional Electromechanical Engineering experience.
  • Experience with CREO and Windchill or equivalent CAD/PLM tools.
  • Experience with circuit card and PCB packaging design.
  • Experience with Technical Data Package generation incl. BOM in Windchill, 2D drawings, 3D modeling.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hardware teams through development and production, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Design electromechanical systems for missile and radar electronics, including packaging and enclosures.
  • Develop 3D models, 2D drawings, and layouts; select materials and processes within constraints.
  • Serve as MRB authority and drive issue resolution.
  • Define acceptance criteria, conduct verification tests, document results for iterations.
  • Perform thermal, shock, vibration, and EMI analyses per flight standards.
  • Collaborate with management, production, quality, and customers on cost, schedule, and technicals.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers; support cross-functional integration.
  • Maintain configuration control in Windchill/CREO and participate in IRAD reviews.

Job description

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Senior Electromechanical Design Engineer to join our hardware engineering team on PAC3. MFC is a recognized designer, developer, and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. This role offers an excellent working environment with a mix of cutting-edge electronics packaging design, hands-on prototype development, production support, and technical leadership.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Leading hardware teams through development and production, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of products
  • Designing and developing electromechanical systems for missile and radar electronics, including CCA/PWB packaging, harness assemblies, and electronic enclosures
  • Developing detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and electromechanical layouts, selecting materials, components, and manufacturing processes that satisfy size, weight, power, and environmental constraints
  • Serving as a Material Review Board (MRB) authority, making informed technical decisions and driving issue resolution
  • Defining acceptance test criteria, executing verification tests, and documenting results for each hardware iteration
  • Conducting thermal, shock, vibration, and EMI analyses to ensure compliance with flight qualification standards
  • Supporting program planning and working closely with senior management, production, quality, and customer stakeholders to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and supporting cross-functional integration activities
  • Maintaining configuration control and design documentation in Lockheed Martin PLM tools (Windchill, CREO)
  • Participating in technical reviews and IRAD work

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university; Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Electromechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with CREO and Windchill or equivalent CAD and PLM tools
  • Experience with MFC circuit card and printed wiring board packaging design
  • Experience with Technical Data Package generation, including BOM creation in Windchill, 2D drawings, and 3D modeling
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with defense customers
  • Team management experience
  • Must be a US Citizen; must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
