Job Description:

Job Title : Assembler, Electro-Mechanical II
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Reports To : Assembly Leader
Company Overview: Alpine Laser LLC specializes in providing laser processing solutions and offers state-of-the-art equipment and development support to deliver precise and efficient results.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Build mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Build and install tooling and fixturing.
  • Integrate pre-built control panels into workstations and complete connection from system hardware to the panel.
  • Route and terminate pneumatic lines and electrical wires and cables.
  • Meticulous labeling.
  • Read schematics/plans, manufacturing documents, bill of materials, maintain records.
  • Read, comprehend, and follow product drawings, schematics and other graphical or written descriptions of the proper assembly of electromechanical products.
  • Experience in Good Manufacturing and Documentation Practices.
  • An assembler is responsible for verifying whether a released document to be used is the correct revision.
  • Adhere to policies of quality assurance, safety, and cleanliness.
Position Tasks:
· Has 2-4 years of relevant experience in electromechanical assembly.
· Demonstrates a deeper understanding of product drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
· Able to work with minimal supervision to troubleshoot issues that arise during assembly.
· Maintains a high level of quality and adherence to safety/cleanliness protocols.
·Completion and updating of training forms.
· May be responsible for performing more complex assembly tasks or working on higher-level products.
  • Demonstrates a deeper understanding of the company's products, including their mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Able to independently troubleshoot and repair equipment, applying specialized knowledge to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Takes on additional responsibilities, such as leading equipment installation, upgrades and training at customer facilities.
  • Complete more complex equipment upgrades in the Field (including but not limited to mechanical modifications and the loading of software programs)
  • Provides training, guidance, and mentorship to more junior field service technicians.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, operations) to identify and address complex issues.
  • Good Documentation Practices – Creation of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair documentation for various equipment models.
  • Maintains detailed equipment service records and prepares comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Identifies opportunities and provides feedback loop to various cross-functional teams to close gaps in training, procedures, and potential quality risks.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to customer support, anticipating needs and proposing value-added solutions.
  • Ad-hoc projects as needed (support customer FAT’s, etc.)

Education and/or Experience:

2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and/or operate equipment such as oscilloscopes, soldering tools and meters.
  • Has good communication skills. Receives verbal instructions or follows sample units to determine assembly requirements.Able to read and comprehend regulations and instructions in English.
Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend documents such as assembly instructions, schematics, assembly drawings, general technical procedures or operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively one-on-one or before small groups.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
