Qualifications

What you will do
  • Respond to service calls from Service Resource Center, including diagnosing equipment/system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representatives to identify equipment/system issues.
  • Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications, including wet (steel, copper, and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures and reference technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, medication notices, etc., to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and manuals.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements electronically with proper coding and obtain customer signatures.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations.
  • Perform other assigned duties, including service calls and inspections.
What we look for
Required
  • 5+ years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Physical ability to carry and move equipment/tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in challenging positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, working at heights up to 40 feet, within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Flexibility to work hours including weekends and travel 75% or more.
  • Participation in on-call rotation; overnight travel required.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Maintain truck inventory for timely responses.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
  • Valid driver’s license with a suitable driving record.
  • Ability to pass background and drug tests.
  • NICET Level II preferred.
  • Possession of Minnesota Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter License.
