What you will do
- Respond to service calls from Service Resource Center, including diagnosing equipment/system malfunctions.
- Contact customer representatives to identify equipment/system issues.
- Perform service and repairs on sprinkler systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications, including wet (steel, copper, and CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge, and fire pumps.
- Follow troubleshooting procedures and reference technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, bulletins, medication notices, etc., to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and manuals.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with staff and customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Complete Service Acknowledgements electronically with proper coding and obtain customer signatures.
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations.
- Perform other assigned duties, including service calls and inspections.
What we look for
Required
- 5+ years of documented experience in Fire Sprinkler systems.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical ability to carry and move equipment/tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Willingness to work in challenging positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, working at heights up to 40 feet, within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Flexibility to work hours including weekends and travel 75% or more.
- Participation in on-call rotation; overnight travel required.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Maintain truck inventory for timely responses.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
- Valid driver’s license with a suitable driving record.
- Ability to pass background and drug tests.
- NICET Level II preferred.
- Possession of Minnesota Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter License.
