Job summary

Volt is immediately hiring an Electro-mechanical Assembler in San Diego, CA 92121 to join a regulated manufacturing environment.

You will perform wiring, assembly, testing, calibration, and inspection of medical device instruments, follow GMP/QMS, read drawings, document production activities, and support continuous improvement with Engineering and Quality teams.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of assembly experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in medical device, diagnostics, electronics, aerospace, or highly regulated environments preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, or electronic assembly.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measuring equipment, and fixtures.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Experience with testing, calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, ISO standards, GMP, or quality systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble medical device instruments including wiring and sub-assemblies.

  • Test, calibrate, verify and troubleshoot to ensure quality.
  • Inspect components and products for FDA/ISO compliance.
  • Interpret drawings, work instructions, blueprints and procedures.
  • Document production activity, labeling and material tracking.
  • Support continuous improvement with Engineering and Quality teams.
  • Follow GMP, QMS, and safety procedures.
  • Train new assemblers as needed.
  • Maintain productivity and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly of medical device instruments, including wiring, component installation, cable harnessing, fitting, and sub-assembly builds.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, fixtures, lifts, cranes, and manufacturing equipment to complete production tasks.
  • Conduct testing, calibration, verification, and troubleshooting activities to ensure product quality and performance.
  • Inspect components and finished products to verify compliance with specifications, FDA regulations, and ISO standards.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, blueprints, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Accurately complete production documentation, labeling activities, material tracking, and quality records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Product Development teams.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and safety procedures.
  • Assist in training new assemblers as needed.
  • Maintain productivity, accuracy, and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of assembly experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Medical device, diagnostics, electronics, aerospace, or highly regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience performing mechanical, electrical, or electronic assembly.
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, torque tools, measuring equipment, and assembly fixtures.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and assembly specifications.
  • Experience with testing, calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting processes.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, ISO standards, GMP, or quality systems is a plus.
Schedule

1st Shift : 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

3rd Shift : 10:00 PM to 06:30 AM (Monday to Friday)

Pay

Pay Range: $18/hr to $22.66/hr

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
