Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Performance/Simulation/Application Engineer to develop and launch e-Powertrain systems for large mining truck products, including diesel electric and battery electric options. The role spans multiple NPIs and collaborates with senior leads to accelerate engineering careers.

You will work with controls, power electronics, and validation teams, using advanced simulation tools to drive data-driven decisions and ensure system readiness for production within three years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
• Experience with electrified powertrain or electric drive system development.
• Experience with controls, power electronics, and motors.
• Proven success leading cross-functional integration and validation activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and integration of electrified powertrain architectures and controls.
• Coordinate simulation, modeling, and testing with global teams.
• Define and optimize HV safety strategies and regulatory considerations.
• Mentor engineers and drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Validate performance and ensure product readiness for large mining trucks.
