General Motors seeks a highly motivated research intern to support advanced electrification and propulsion research within the Energy and Propulsion Systems Research organization. The intern will help develop motor topologies, control methods, and AI-enabled tools for hybrid-electric and battery-electric vehicles.

This role blends analytical work, simulations, lab experiments, and hands-on testing in a collaborative research environment at GM.

Competenze

• Currently enrolled in an MS or PhD program in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, physics, or related field.
• Strong interest in electric machines, controls, power electronics, vehicle electrification, AI, or related technical area.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid environment and participate in onsite lab activities when required.

Mansioni

• Investigate advanced electric-machine topologies (REL deb, induction, switched reluctance).
• Develop, evaluate, and improve control strategies for electric drive systems.
• Apply AI/ML methods to electric-machine design, modeling, or performance optimization.
• Support simulation, modeling, analysis, and concept development for HEV/EV propulsion.
• Participate in drive-system testing, lab experiments, and hardware validation.
• Contribute to power-electronics and circuit-design activities as needed.
