Job summary

General Motors Company seeks a Research and Development Intern in Power Electronics & Energy Conversion Systems. You will assist advanced research on power modules, inverters, and energy-conversion architectures, contributing to modeling, hardware builds, and lab testing in a collaborative team environment.

The role supports embedded power electronics, gate-drive concepts, and vehicle electrification efforts, with Safety-first lab work and documentation responsibilities throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in electrical engineering or related field.
• Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the internship.
• Willing to work in a laboratory and engineering test environment with safety adherence.

Responsibilities

• Support R&D projects in power electronics, energy conversion, and electric drives.
• Contribute to concept generation, circuit/system analysis, and modeling/simulation.
• Develop and test prototype hardware, including schematics and PCB considerations.
• Collect and analyze electrical, thermal, and control-system data; document results.
