Job summary

Kalmar Solutions, based in Ottawa, KS, offers an Intern, Development Engineer Electrics position for the summer of 2027. The role focuses on developing electrical, controls and mechatronic designs for the TT product line and integrating components into truck chassis and cabins with hydraulics, pneumatics and powertrain.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and possess experience with CAD tools and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical, controls and mechatronic designs for our TT product line.
• Integrate electrical components into truck chassis and cabins where product systems include hydraulics, pneumatics, structures and powertrain.
• Develop Network Databases for CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Develop vehicle network topologies by implementing Kalmar Solutions standards.
• Understand current vehicle architecture and plan upgrades.
• Ensure the use of engineering standards, methodologies and global product development processes into engineering team’s daily work tasks.
