Job summary

Kalmar Solutions LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Test & Validation Engineer, Electrics in Ottawa to oversee and perform engineering test and validation tasks for NPD and related projects on Kalmar Terminal Tractors. You will ensure electrical and control systems meet customer demands, safety, and durability standards.

The role requires 2–5 years of experience in electrical/software design or testing, a relevant Bachelor's degree, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical/software design, mechanical design, or testing.
• Knowledge of electrical systems (low and high DC voltage), CAN bus, and software unit testing.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support global testing projects.
• Strong awareness and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required to support global testing projects and customer site requirements

Responsibilities

• Test Planning & Verification: create comprehensive test plans with R&D for thorough verification before product launch.
• System Testing & Execution: test electrical systems, control systems, and components per test plans (DVP/R).
• Quality & Gate Reviews: participate in gate reviews and coordinate with support and warranty teams.
• Prototyping & Equipment Support: assist and train prototype technicians, maintain logs, ensure recalibration.
• Reporting & Fixture Design: write test reports, design fixtures, propose testing equipment.
• Supplier & Installation Audits: coordinate with engineers and suppliers for audits and warranty coverage.
