Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for performing electrical services throughout the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Works from blueprints, drawings, diagrams, or sketches to obtain information to perform electrical work.
• Troubleshoots problems of reduction machinery and makes necessary repairs.
• Responds quickly to emergency situations.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
• Wires machines and lighting and installs new circuits.
• Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Inspects electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance.
• Plans layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications.
• Uses a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Maintains logs and records of labor, materials, and equipment used.
• Maintains spare parts and components for construction and repair, and notifies supervisor when supplies are needed.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when problems arise.
• Activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Follows all safety guidelines.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
