Job summary

Baltimore County is seeking qualified electricians to support the Department of Public Works and Transportation, Bureau of Utilities, Pumping Division. The role involves electrical installation, maintenance and repair work conducted under the guidance of an Electrician II.

Candidates should be able to read blueprints, plan layouts, and replace components as needed. Two years of electrical experience are required, with related training substituting for experience.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair.
• Related training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
• Reads blueprints, plans, and schematic drawings.
• Follows safety procedures and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Installs, tests, and replaces components of electrical circuitry and power distribution systems.
• Assists in testing and repair of generators, transformers, and UPS.
• Assists in installation and repair of equipment including HVAC, pumping, and control systems.
• Assists in installation and testing of door bells, alarms, lighting and communications systems.
• Uses tools and equipment of the electrical trade.
• Reads blueprints and schematics.
• Follows safety procedures and codes.
