Baltimore County is seeking qualified electricians to support the Department of Public Works and Transportation, Bureau of Utilities, Pumping Division. The role involves electrical installation, maintenance and repair work conducted under the guidance of an Electrician II.
Candidates should be able to read blueprints, plan layouts, and replace components as needed. Two years of electrical experience are required, with related training substituting for experience.
Pay Schedule II, Grade 20, Regular Schedule: 40 hours per week

Under the guidance of an Electrician II, performs electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work.

Two years' experience in electrical installation, maintenance, or repair.
Related training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Some positions may require possession of a valid driver's license equivalent to a non-commercial, class C Maryland driver's license at the time of appointment.
Applicants will be qualified based on an evaluation of their training and experience, as stated on their application, which includes answers to the supplemental questions. Applicants must state the dates and duties of past and present experience clearly and completely for evaluation purposes.
The work of this classification entails the performance of heavy physical labor including bending, stooping, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying heavy objects, and the operation of tools and equipment. Some duties require exposure to potentially hazardous conditions such as high voltage electricity and adverse weather. Some duties may require travel between work sites.
