UMBC is seeking a full-time Electrician in Baltimore, Maryland, to manage electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations across its facilities. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in high voltage servicing and a journeyman certification.

Facilities Management. We need dedicated team members to join us to keep the construction, operations, maintenance and infrastructure of the UMBC campus running smoothly so our students, faculty and staff can continue our mission of striving for excellence. Our staff maintains 70 university buildings on 512 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.
The incumbent will perform specified electrical work; repairs or maintains transformers, generators, circuit breakers, conduits and panels; tests electrical circuits; replaces units or parts including wiring, fuses, transformers, coils and switches.
Facilities Management provides free uniforms and shoes for skilled trades positions. Tools are provided for use on the job as well as a UMBC owned vehicle to travel to worksites on campus. UMBC also assists with keeping trades licenses current and obtaining needed training. Opportunities for shift differential, on-call, and overtime pay may be available.
UMBC offers competitive compensation. This role starts at $53,081 and has 14 days of vacation as well as winter break, spring break, and personal days for regular full time roles. Tuition remission is also available.

Pay Range 13 (minimum: $53,081 midpoint: $70,309) based on the University System of Maryland (USM) Pay Program.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, Memorandum of Understanding, USM Board of Regent policies, internal equity, budget and qualifications and experience. Most salary offers will be close to the minimum part of the range.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
