Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Technician to plan, lay out, install, test and repair wiring, fixtures, motors and control systems in accordance with plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.

You will interpret drawings and determine best procedures, measure and install conduit, wire and terminations, test systems, and ensure safety of components in both high and low voltage environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience preferred.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Interprets drawings, sketches, plans and determines best work procedures, tools, equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit; welds supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations.
• Installs control and distribution apparatus and fastens in place.
• Tests and starts up systems and checks continuity for safety and compatibility.
• Observes functioning of installed equipment to determine hazards and need for adjustments.
• May pull wires through conduit and connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Works with high and low voltage systems.
• Disassembles and repairs defective electrical equipment or systems.
• Operates electrical and mechanical hand tools, power, hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
