Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced electrician to plan, lay out, install, test and repair wiring and control systems in accordance with plans and codes.

You will interpret drawings, install conduit, test systems, and work with high and low voltage equipment, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires climbing and outdoor work in varying weather conditions, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
• Strong working knowledge for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions; communicate effectively with supervision.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of tools and measurement devices.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, sketches, software, and plans to determine procedures, tools, and equipment for troubleshooting and repair.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations.
• Install control and distribution apparatus and fasten in place.
• Test and start up systems and check circuit continuity for safety and compatibility.
• Observe equipment to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• May pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Work with high and low voltage systems.
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
• Operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, power tools, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical tools.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, or materials for tasks.
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance and take corrective action.
