Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking an Electrician to perform electrical work on control cabinets, panels, and PLCs. The role involves wiring, conduit work, PLC programming, and ladder logic documentation in a facility setting in Newark, NJ.

The position requires PLC experience, strong electrical knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with travel to off-site locations. High school diploma or GED is required, with 2–3 years of PLC and electrical experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Install electrical hardware and software or wiring of devices per state and local codes.
• Perform electrical start-ups of new, used, or modified equipment and document operating instructions.
• Assist in layout design and troubleshoot electrical components.
• Calibrate and program PLCs; draw ladder logic diagrams to match specifications.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas; manage tools and storage.
• Adhere to safety practices and company policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation of electrical hardware or software or the electrical wiring of selected devicesin accordance withstate and local codes.
• Responsible for the electrical start-ups of new,usedor modified equipment and generate new ormodifyexisting operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items.
• Aid andassistin the layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.
• Perform calibrations on electrical components when needed. Responsible for the programming and installation of PLCs and the drawing of ladder logic diagrams to match such.
• Keep work areas clean on a daily basis.(allwire, conduit,raceways, etc.)All should be stored in a clean, safe manner.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of experience with PLC programming and ladder logic.
• Prior electrical experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman electrician license is preferred.
• Strong computer and basic math skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequently exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment.
• Requires regular travel to off-site locations.
• Frequently requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing, with occasional sitting and equipment/computer use.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
