Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking an electrically skilled technician in Mississippi to install and troubleshoot electrical systems, wire devices per codes, and support PLC programming and ladder logic tasks.

The role requires experience with electrical start-ups and the ability to generate or modify operating instructions for electrical items. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 2–3 years PLC programming experience, and prior electrical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of PLC programming and ladder logic experience.
• Prior electrical experience required.
• Journeyman electrician license preferred.
• Strong computer and basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical hardware or software and wire selected devices per codes.
• Start-ups of new, used, or modified equipment and create/update operating instructions for electrical items.
• Aid in layout design and troubleshoot electrical components.
• Calibrate electrical components as needed; program and install PLCs and draw ladder logic diagrams.
• Maintain clean work areas and proper storage of tools.
• Handle company-issued tools and ensure they are cleaned and stored after use.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of experience with PLC programming and ladder logic.
• Prior electrical experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman electrician license is preferred.
• Strong computer and basic math skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequently exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment.
• Requires regular travel to off-site locations.
• Frequently requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing, with occasional sitting and equipment/computer use.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
