Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. in Fayetteville, NC is seeking an experienced electrician to support electrical installations, start-ups, and PLC systems across our facilities. The role requires hands-on work with electrical hardware and software and strict adherence to state and local codes.

You will perform ladder logic programming, calibrations, and develop operating instructions while keeping work areas clean and tools properly stored. Occasional travel to off-site locations is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3 years of experience with PLC programming and ladder logic.
• Prior electrical experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical hardware or software in accordance with state and local codes.
• Start-ups of new/used/modified equipment and create/modify operating instructions for electrical items.
• Aid in layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.
• Calibrations on electrical components; programming and installation of PLCs; drawing ladder logic diagrams.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation of electrical hardware or software or the electrical wiring of selected devicesin accordance withstate and local codes.


• Responsible for the electrical start-ups of new,usedor modified equipment and generate new ormodifyexisting operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items.


• Aid andassistin the layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.


• Perform calibrations on electrical components when needed. Responsible for the programming and installation of PLCs and the drawing of ladder logic diagrams to match such.


• Keep work areas clean on a daily basis.(allwire, conduit,raceways, etc.)All should be stored in a clean, safe manner.


• Responsible forcompany issuedtools. (ex: benders, punches, labeler, drills, etc., are to be cleaned and stored when not in use)


• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED


• 2-3 years of experience with PLC programming and ladder logic.


• Prior electrical experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman electrician license is preferred.


• Strong computer and basic math skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequently exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment.


• Requires regular travel to off-site locations.


• Frequently requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing, with occasional sitting and equipment/computer use.


• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.


• Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
