Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking an Electrician to perform electrical work in control cabinets and PLCs, wiring/rewiring electrical cabinets, and running conduit. The role includes programming PLCs and installing components in a manufacturing environment.

The Electricianis responsible forperforming electrical work in control cabinets, panel boards, etc., wiring/rewiring of electrical cabinets and electrical components, running conduit, writing programs andinstall inPLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation of electrical hardware or software or the electrical wiring of selected devicesin accordance withstate and local codes.
• Responsible for the electrical start-ups of new,usedor modified equipment and generate new ormodifyexisting operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items.
• Aid andassistin the layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.
• Perform calibrations on electrical components when needed. Responsible for the programming and installation of PLCs and the drawing of ladder logic diagrams to match such.
• Keep work areas clean on a daily basis.(allwire, conduit,raceways, etc.)All should be stored in a clean, safe manner.
• Responsible forcompany issuedtools. (ex: benders, punches, labeler, drills, etc., are to be cleaned and stored when not in use)
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of experience with PLC programming and ladder logic.
• Prior electrical experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman electrician license is preferred.
• Strong computer and basic math skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequently exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment.
• Requires regular travel to off-site locations.
• Frequently requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing, with occasional sitting and equipment/computer use.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
