Loudoun County Public Schools seeks a skilled electrician to maintain, install, and repair electrical systems in school facilities. This position includes inspecting work for compliance with codes and may involve leading a maintenance team.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma, relevant experience, and a valid driver's license, with a licensed Journeyman Electrician in Virginia required. This role operates on a non-exempt level and prohibits remote work.
This is a skilled electrician work in maintaining, installing, repairing, and inspecting electrical systems and equipment. An employee in this class is responsible for repairing electrical systems and equipment in school facilities; installing a variety of electrical fixtures and devices; and inspecting electrical work completed in school buildings. Work is performed in accordance with standard trade practices and applicable codes and regulations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. The employee must possess normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies. Frequently sitting and/or remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
