Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking a skilled electrical technician to install and wire electrical hardware, perform PLC start-ups, and develop operating instructions for electrical items. The role involves layout design support, calibration tasks, and ladder logic diagram work.

The candidate should have prior electrical experience and PLC programming/ladder logic know-how, with willingness to travel to off-site locations as required. High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Installation of electrical hardware or software or electrical wiring of devices per state/local codes
• Electrical start-ups of new/used/modified equipment and create/modify operating instructions for electrical items
• Aid in layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components
• Calibrations on electrical components; programming and installation of PLCs; drawing ladder logic diagrams
• Maintain clean work areas; manage and store company tools properly
• Other duties as assigned

• Keep work areas clean on a daily basis.(allwire, conduit,raceways, etc.)All should be stored in a clean, safe manner.
• Responsible forcompany issuedtools. (ex: benders, punches, labeler, drills, etc., are to be cleaned and stored when not in use)

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• 2-3 years of experience with PLC programming and ladder logic.
• Prior electrical experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman electrician license is preferred.
• Strong computer and basic math skills.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequently exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, electrical hazards, and potentially dangerous equipment.
• Requires regular travel to off-site locations.
• Frequently requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing, with occasional sitting and equipment/computer use.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
