Job summary

Darling Ingredients is seeking an experienced Control and Automation professional to provide total support for plant process control technologies, including PLC programming, wiring, and startup activities in a demanding manufacturing environment in Kentucky.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 5+ years in control/automation, and experience with Rockwell PLC/SCADA and PlantPax systems. Travel up to 40% and strong teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• Rockwell Automation PLC/SCADA
• Rockwell PlantPax System Experience a must
• Work well with others in a team based environment.
• Communicates clearly both verbally or in written form; excellent analytical skills.
• Leadership ability; able to direct personnel.
• Requires minimum supervision; makes timely, accurate judgments regarding production and process quality.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide total support for all operational control technologies used for plant process controls.
• Install electrical hardware or software or the electrical wiring of selected devices in accordance with state and local codes.
• Electrical start-ups of new, used or modified equipment and generate new or modify existing operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items.
• Aid and assist in the layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.
• Program and install PLC's and the drawing of ladder logic diagrams to match such.
• Procurement and supervision of sub-contractors hired to help in the construction of electrical items such as conduit or other electrical service.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date electrical schematics and drawings.
• Maintain support for all current operating control technology and be available for potential "service" type issues.
• Develop and maintain archive system for all written and future control programming, organized by plant, type and date.
• All other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Work is performed in both plant and office environments, with exposure to high and/or cold temperatures.


• Travel is required, up to 40% with potential weekend and holiday work.


• Frequently requires walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and crouching.


• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.


• Requires the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100lbs.
