Job summary

ISS Facilities Services is seeking an experienced Electrician to join a high-security government environment in Blackburn. This permanent, on-site role covers electrical, PPM and reactive maintenance across the site, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

You’ll fault-find and repair electrical systems, support wider building services tasks, and work within the EDV clearance process. A full UK driving licence and 18th Edition knowledge are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Recognised NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) + ECS Card.
• Strong experience in electrical maintenance, fault finding and repair.
• Genuine multi-skilled capability and willingness to undertake wider building services tasks.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety, RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).
• Ability and willingness to obtain SC and EDV clearance.

Hours of work: Monday - Friday (40 hours) + on-call (1 in 5 weeks - access to pool van)

We are looking for an experienced Reactive Maintenance Electrician to join a high-security government office environment, delivering electrical, PPM and reactive maintenance across the site.

Job Description

This is an electrical-bias, multi-skilled role for someone confident in electrical fault finding, repairs and planned maintenance, with the ability to support wider building services and fabric maintenance.

You’ll play a key role in maintaining the site’s infrastructure, responding to faults and ensuring facilities remain safe, compliant and operational.

Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the site, you must be willing and able to obtain SC Security Clearance & then EDV clearance thereafter. The EDV process is significantly more intrusive and can take approximately 5-6 months to complete. You must therefore be comfortable committing to the full clearance process and working within a high-security environment.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out electrical PPM, planned and reactive maintenance.

Fault finding, diagnosis, repair and installation of electrical systems and equipment.

Undertaking a range of multi-skilled building services maintenance, including basic mechanical, HVAC and building fabric tasks.

Responding to reactive maintenance requests within agreed timescales.

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
