Job summary

Veolia Group is seeking an Electrical Technician for the Southern Region. The role involves ensuring safety on site, responding to plant breakdowns, and adhering to electrical regulations. A salary between £38,000 and £42,000 per annum is offered along with benefits including a company vehicle and pension scheme.

Candidates should have an NVQ level 3 electrical qualification, knowledge of the 18th edition wiring regulations, and a full driving license. This position requires good IT skills and the ability to operate in a large geographical area.

Qualifications

• Ability to attain a Ministry of Defence security clearance.

Job description

Electrical Technician – Southern Region (Tidworth, Humber Lane)

Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum (DOE), plus company vehicle, discretionary bonus, and Veolia benefits.

Hours: 40 hours per week with out‑of‑hours standby (approximately once every four weeks). Location: Southern Region, working area with home base at Humber Lane, Tidworth.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Veolia site management team to ensure site personnel, contractors and visitors are safe.
• Attend to plant and equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize downtime.
• Report unsafe or defective plant, tools, equipment, PPE, practices, methods or hazards.
• Use and operate workshop facilities and equipment safely, complying with company and statutory requirements.
• Assist in the upkeep and record‑keeping of spares and accessories, both paper and electronic.
• Participate in confined‑space operations as required and complete necessary training.

Qualifications

• Electrical qualification to NVQ level 3 or greater.
• Knowledge of 18th edition wiring regulations.
• Preferably City & Guilds, NVQ level 3/ECS, or JIB card holder.
• City & Guilds Level 3 Testing and Inspection qualification and/or experience.
• Thermal imagery qualification (beneficial).
• Portable appliance testing qualification and/or experience (advantageous).
• Ability to attain a Ministry of Defence security clearance up to Developed Vetting Standard.
• Full driving licence and experience operating within a large geographical area.
• Basic IT skills.
