Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT seeks an experienced Welding Machine Repair - Electrical professional to troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and operate advanced electronic welding equipment and robotic/plasma systems for nuclear-powered submarine construction.

You will collaborate with design teams to discuss technical problems and propose circuit changes to improve system performance. Expect work in confined spaces, at heights, and with heavy lifting as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED OR have 2+ years of related technical experience.
• Must have 1-5 years of electrical experience, electrical maintenance experience, military, or manufacturing experience.
• Preferred: completion of specialized school in electronic field beyond high school or 3 years in electrical field.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and operate complex electronic welding equipment and robotic welding and plasma systems.
• Discuss technical problems with Design to suggest circuit changes to enhance operation.
• Work conditions may include confined spaces, heights/JLG and heavy lifting.
