Job summary

Metro Engineering Solutions, LLC (MES) is seeking a Designer to join our team. The Designer will provide design services for power utility clients, focusing on overhead and underground transmission and distribution projects across the Midwest.

Responsibilities include interpreting maps with ESRI/Google Earth, collaborating with customers, attending project meetings, performing field scoping, and preparing construction orders under the guidance of the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in technical or design field preferred.
• Minimum two years in electrical utility planning preferred.
• Experience with overhead/underground design services preferred.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with internal/external personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop design solutions for overhead/underground utilities.
• Collaborate with residential, commercial customers when needed.
• Attend job meetings with client or project team.
• Conduct field visits and support job scoping per design standards.
• Interpret data on maps using ESRI/Google Earth.
• Advise on standards for secondary service requirements.
• Write construction orders for overhead/underground jobs.
• Support the Project Manager as needed.
