Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to support regional and national projects. You will perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems, lead testing teams, and ensure compliance with NETA standards.

Role requires 7+ years of hands-on HV testing, proficiency with major test equipment, and the ability to travel up to 75%. Vertiv offers competitive compensation, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Current NETA Level III or IV certification or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Proficient with test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
• Ability to read/interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
