Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform high-voltage testing and analyses across regional/national projects. This full-time role offers substantial travel (up to 75%), a robust benefits package, and opportunity for professional growth.

You will leverage your NETA credentials and extensive equipment experience to test, troubleshoot, and document results, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multi-discipline teams.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification currently in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing experience in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with NETA MTS/ATS standards; ability to read one-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
