Job summary

ABB is seeking a Test Technician to support product development by maintaining the test environment, facilities, and equipment. You will assist design engineers with development activities, perform testing on prototypes, and verify compliance with UL, CSA, and IEC standards.

You will troubleshoot circuits, build test setups, and generate formal reports for certification. Travel to external test facilities may be required to support drive product certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with UL, CSA, IEC compliance testing preferred for drive products.
• Proficiency with lab test equipment and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Support product development while maintaining the test environment, facilities, and equipment.
• Coordinate and perform laboratory activities to ensure design verification and standards compliance.
• Execute product and prototype testing per specifications; analyze results for performance.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits under engineering guidance.
• Design, build, and maintain test setups and fixtures per engineering specs.
• Travel to external test facilities as required for certification activities.
