Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Richmond, VA is hiring a Electrical Test Technician Team Lead for the 3rd shift. The role tests and modifies electrical equipment post-production and inspects functions prior to shipment.

You will supervise and train technicians, plan tests from diagrams and specs, and ensure safe bay operations. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years in electrical test in manufacturing; preferred are an associate degree, IR certification, and experience with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required from an accredited educational institution.
• 1-3 years of experience in electrical test or related electronic technologies field in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Support daily shipment priorities, workload scheduling, safe and efficient test bay organization, and training of less experienced technicians.
• Plan work by reviewing work requests, wiring diagrams, one-line drawings, wire lists, schematics, and specifications.
• Set up test report requirements based on sales orders and customer specifications.
• Perform system tests, including IR and dielectric testing, and special/type tests for prototype qualification; complete test reports, logs, and records.
• Troubleshoot electrical test issues, AC/DC circuitry, and printed circuit assemblies to the component level.
• Assemble circuit boards, set up programs, and perform functional tests.
• Use test equipment such as digital and current meters, hi-pot testers, current clamps, variac and out-of-phase transformers, resistive load banks, infrared cameras, waveform analyzers, and oscilloscopes, including Wavebook.
• Manage failed and replacement component transactions with the stockroom.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following standards, procedures, and applicable regulations and codes.
