Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical division in Richmond, VA seeks a Test Engineering Manager to lead the test function and drive robust testing and assembly processes on the production floor.

You will develop test equipment specs, ensure compliance with electrical safe work practices and OSHA requirements, and mentor staff while applying lean methods to improve performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (accredited institution).
• Minimum 5 years in electrical/controls engineering, design or testing.
• Minimum 2 years in a management or leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Develop test equipment specs ensuring compliance with electrical safe work practices and OSHA requirements.
• Provide guidelines for designing, supporting, servicing, and testing of test equipment and systems.
• Lead testing function to support customer expectations and key performance indicators (safety, quality, delivery, cost, inventory).
• Coach and develop electrical test staff using Eaton Leadership Model and performance tools.
• Apply CIF/lean methods to improve operations and reduce waste.
• Align cross-functional resources with plant goals across production, quality, supply chain, maintenance, engineering, and EHS.
