Job summary

Dorsey College is seeking an Electrical Technician Instructor to deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction across multiple Michigan campuses. The role involves teaching electrical theory, wiring methods, and NEC applications, while maintaining a safe lab environment and tracking student progress in Canvas.

The ideal candidate blends strong electrical expertise with a passion for mentoring students and delivering quality educational experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of electrical trade experience or equivalent.
• Preferred: U.S. Department of Labor-recognized apprenticeship or training program.
• Licenses: Michigan Master/Journeyman preferred; OSHA 10/30, NCCER credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver classroom and lab instruction per approved outlines; teach theory, wiring methods, NEC applications; use proper tools safely.
• Maintain a safe, organized lab; track attendance, grades, and records in Canvas.
• Advise students on attendance, progress, and campus resources; support retention.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Financial Aid, Career Services, and campus leadership.
• Ensure compliance with policies, OSHA standards, FERPA, and regulatory guidelines.
