Job summary

SJE is seeking an Electrical Technician I to support the Birmingham, Alabama location. You will perform skilled electrical work on control panels and wiring used in electrical systems, reading schematics and production drawings, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The role requires high school or GED, knowledge of electrical theory, blueprint reading, and the ability to follow instructions and quality procedures. Collaboration with production and engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
• Working knowledge of drafting, electrical system layout, blueprint reading, and mathematics.
• Knowledge of safety precautions for the electrical trade.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings or schematics to mount and connect components.
• Collaborate with Team Lead and engineering to ensure product quality.
• Prepare and install components on subpanels and enclosures.
• Label and terminate wires to components and terminals.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
