Job summary

RTX BBN Technologies in Cambridge, MA seeks an early-career electrical technician to join the hardware development team. You will help design, build, and integrate custom electromechanical systems on site, working with systems engineers, software developers, and scientists on challenging R&D programs.

The role requires hands-on hardware experience, the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance, and a strong mix of wiring, soldering, and electrical testing skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certifications with 4 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience building wire harnesses and wire wrapping.
• Experience defining wiring interfaces for power, serial, RF, and fiber.
• Experience reworking boards and testing electrical components.
• Soldering SMT components and using test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMM).
• Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and assemble on-site electromechanical systems.
• Build electronics, wiring harnesses, and hardware with engineers.
• Support prototype hardware and occasional field testing.
• Work on projects sponsored by DoD or government customers.
