Job summary

Sterling Steel Company is seeking a maintenance electrician to join our heavy manufacturing team. You will inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems, cranes, and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Strong PLC/analog control knowledge and a commitment to safety are essential. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of maintenance experience in a heavy industry setting, can read wiring diagrams, and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• 5+ years maintenance electrician experience in heavy manufacturing.
• English communication required for daily operations.
• Ability to read, write, and understand technical documentation in English.
• Knowledge of crane signals and safe operation of electrical gear.
• Proficient with PLCs, analog circuits, PLC scaling, calibrations, and VFD controls.
• Strong trouble-shooting skills for electrical systems and sensors.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate electrical equipment.
• Perform repairs on main motors, generators, control panels, relays, interlocking cranes and other systems.
• Make mechanical and electrical repairs on cranes as needed.
• Interpret schedules, drawings, and wiring diagrams to locate circuits and plan repairs.
• Document work orders and maintenance history in CMMS.
• Ensure safety rules are followed and proper PPE is used.
• Calibrate electrical measuring equipment and diagnose faults.
• Assist with project planning and start-ups.
