You will diagnose malfunctions, collaborate with engineers to reduce downtime, and perform preventive maintenance on presses, motors, and conveyors.

The role requires knowledge of 120/240/480V systems, 3-phase electrical, and the ability to work any shift. Strong safety adherence and documentation are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of electrician/electrical technician experience in manufacturing.
• Familiarity with drafting blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of 120/240/480V systems and 3-phase electrical.

Responsibilities

• Install and modify electrical machinery, equipment, and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants.
• Diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunctions and assess the job.
• Collaborate with an electrical engineer to reduce downtime.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Ensure all electrical components adhere to standards.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment following safety rules and lockout/tagout.
• Work on electrical control circuits and high-voltage distribution panels (480V).
• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.

Basic Job Functions:

• Install and modify electrical machinery, equipment, and circuitry in industrial or commercial plants.
• Must know the following: Control Circuitry, 120/240/480 Volts Systems. 3-phase electrical.
• Diagnose the cause of electrical or mechanical machine malfunctions and assess the job.
• Collaborate with an electrical engineer if needed to decrease excessive downtime.
• Perform routine preventive Maintenance.
• Ensure all electrical components adhere to standards.
• Mechanical experience would be preferred; ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on presses, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, Safety rules, lockout/Tag out, and regulations.
• Be able to work on electrical control circuits, high voltage distribution panels 480v. Max. and overhead cranes.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience as an electrician/ electrical technican in a manufacturing facility, or completion of an accredited electrician technician schooling program.
• Experience with equipment maintenance, technical understanding, and zeal.
• Familiarity with drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics.
• Must be able to work any shift as required, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing facility.
• Industrial maintenance experience, a plus.
