Job summary

Nucor, a leading steel and steel products manufacturer, is seeking an Electrical Technician to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and automation systems across production lines. The role requires a working knowledge of electrical principles, and experience with PID/closed loop control, HMI programming, and VFDs.

You must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or electrical trade school or military experience may satisfy the role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical maintenance and automation systems is required.
• Familiarity with PID/closed loop control, networking tools and standards, VFDs (ABB/AB), and HMI programming is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automation systems in a production setting.
• Provide electrical support to production crews and ensure safe, efficient operation.

Job description

Pay Range: Compensation for this position is $19.89/hr plus an additional estimated $28.57/hr in production pay, paid weekly. Teammates in this position annually average between $96,500 - $105,000.

Basic Job Functions:

This position includes but is not limited to:

• The successful candidate willpossessa working knowledge of electrical principles and practical experience as itrelates to the electrical maintenance function.


• The technician will provide electrical support to the production crews,maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical andautomation systems.


• The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, vacation coverage, andholidays.


• Two-year degree, successful completion of electrical trade school, or a minimum of three years industrial experience or military.


• Knowledge of automation and networking equipment and processes such as PID/closed loop control systems, networking tools and standards, Variable Frequency Drive experience (ABB, AB), and HMI programming and troubleshooting
