Job summary

Laitram Machinery, a division of Laitram, LLC, seeks an Electrical Technician to assemble and test control systems and motor-control devices per engineering specs. The role includes diagnosing malfunctions, providing service support, and maintaining electrical inventory.

Qualified candidates have an Associate or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent, plus 2 years of electrical systems experience, and strong troubleshooting and team skills.

Qualifications

• 2 years working knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, control panels, low and high voltage.
• Logical thinker with efficient troubleshooting skills.
• Availability to travel and work overtime if necessary.
• Mechanical aptitude and excellent teamwork.
• Able to communicate troubleshooting procedures and solutions to customers and servicemen.
• Self-managed and able to perform essential job functions including lifting 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and tests control systems per specifications to fulfill production and service orders on a production schedule.
• Assembles and tests motor-control devices (VFDs, PLCs, HMIs) and related components per engineering specs.
• Diagnoses electrical/mechanical malfunctions and performs preventative/corrective maintenance.
• Modifies electrical prototypes under direction of Electrical Engineer.
• Provide electrical support to Service Department and customers.
• Maintain electrical inventory and cycle counts; manage file system for control systems.
• Perform electrical shop housekeeping tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Assembles and tests control systems per specifications to fulfill production and service orders on a production schedule
• Assembles and tests developmental or operational motor-control devices (VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, etc.), switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering specifications and knowledge of electrical principles
• Diagnoses cause of electrical malfunction, mechanical malfunction, operational equipment failure then performs preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Modifies electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under direction of Electrical Engineer
• Provide electrical support to Service Department and customers
• Maintain electrical inventory – perform inventory transactions and cycle count
• Maintain file management system for electrical control systems
• Perform Electrical Shop housekeeping tasks
• Availability to travel and work overtime if necessary

Requirements:

• Associates or B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
• 2 years working knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, control panels, low and high voltage
