Job summary

Laitram Machinery, a division of Laitram, LLC, seeks an Electrical Technician to assemble and test electrical control systems for production and service orders in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities include testing VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and other components, diagnosing failures, and providing support to the Service Department. Requires electrical tech degree and 2 years of experience; travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates or B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• 2 years working knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, control panels, low and high voltage.
• Must be able to communicate troubleshooting procedures and solutions to customers and servicemen.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test control systems per specifications for production and service orders.
• Assemble and test motor-control devices (VFDs, PLCs, HMIs) and related equipment per engineering specs.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical malfunctions and perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Modify electrical prototypes to correct functional deviations under direction of Electrical Engineer.
• Provide electrical support to Service Department and customers.
• Maintain electrical inventory and perform cycle counts.
• Maintain file management system for electrical control systems.
• Perform Electrical Shop housekeeping tasks.
• Travel and overtime as needed.
