Job summary

PCI Pharma Services in the United States is seeking an Electrical Technician Level 1 to perform maintenance and repairs on electrical/electronic systems within our production environments.

You will work under the Mechanical Manager, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, installations, and modifications to support GMP-compliant manufacturing of life-saving therapies. Strong hands-on skills and a four-year apprenticeship are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED and a four-year electrical/electronic apprenticeship with 8,000 OJT hours and 600 technical training hours.
• Four years of equivalent experience as electrician/electronic technician in pharma or packing industry preferred.
• Proficient reading wiring diagrams and ladder logic; capable with PC/PLC-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electrical/electronic systems in production machinery.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to support GMP manufacturing.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and validation activities.
• Read schematics and diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
• Collaborate with Operations and Technical staff to support production objectives.

Primary Function:

Responsible, as per training administered, work related to equipment repairs and changeovers, preventive maintenance activities, corrective troubleshooting on machinery. Assists with equipment inspection, installations, and equipment system performance improvements. Performs all work in accordance to company policies, procedures and regulations contained in company GMP'S, safety standards, SOP's and housekeeping standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: Responsible and effective maintenance/ repairs of electrical/electronic systems and devices within the production operation. Provide efficient and effective technical support in maintaining established production objectives. Provide technical support to both operations and technical staff in a professional manner to facilitate a positive working environment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Electrical Technician Level 1):

• Demonstrates competency in the electrical maintenance and repair of production machinery and systems.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of electrical circuitry and power distribution.
• Demonstrate basic knowledge of electronic controls, sensors, and various relays for production systems and machinery.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment.
• Demonstrates basic competency in the maintenance and trouble-shooting of PC/PLC, including HMI, based or driven systems and machinery.
• Demonstrate proficiency in reading wiring diagrams, schematics and ladder logic diagrams in the function and use to trouble - shoot equipment issues.
• Perform assigned duties as part of a team.
• Assist with equipment and system power installations, systems or equipment modifications, including validation and qualification procedures.
• Perform all work in accordance with established company policies, procedures and regulations contained in cGMP's, safety standards or standard operating procedures.
• Ability to operate a man lift as needed.
• Performes other duties, activities, or responsibilities as directed or assigned within the scope of this position.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED
• Satisfactory completion of a four(4) year certified electrical/electronic apprenticeship program. Program must have entailed a minimum of 8,000 OJT training hours and (600) technical training hours

Experience or Equivalent

Four(4) years equivalent experience as an electrician , electronic technician, electro-mechanical maintenance technician in the pharmaceutical or packing industry with equivalent technical training
