Job summary

PCI Pharma Services is seeking an Electrical Technician Level 1 to maintain and repair production machinery and systems in a GMP environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with a four-year electrical/electronic apprenticeship.
  • Minimum 8,000 OJT hours and 600 hours of technical training.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or packaging industries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competency in electrical maintenance and repair of production machinery and systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuitry and power distribution.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic controls, sensors, and relays for production systems.
  • Proficient use of electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and ladder logic diagrams to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Ability to perform duties as part of a team.
  • Assist with power installations and system modifications, including validation and qualification procedures.
  • Work in accordance with cGMP, safety standards, and SOPs.
  • Ability to operate a manlift when needed.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

Primary Function:

Responsible, as per training administered, work related to equipment repairs and changeovers, preventive maintenance activities, corrective troubleshooting on machinery. Assists with equipment inspection, installations, and equipment system performance improvements. Performs all work in accordance to company policies, procedures and regulations contained in company GMP’S, safety standards, SOP’s and housekeeping standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: Responsible and effective maintenance/ repairs of electrical/electronic systems and devices within the production operation. Provide efficient and effective technical support in maintaining established production objectives. Provide technical support to both operations and technical staff in a professional manner to facilitate a positive working environment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Electrical Technician Level 1):
  • Demonstrates competency in the electrical maintenance and repair of production machinery and systems.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of electrical circuitry and power distribution.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of electronic controls, sensors, and various relays for production systems and machinery.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of electrical/electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Demonstrates basic competency in the maintenance and troubleshooting of PC/PLC, including HMI, based or driven systems and machinery.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading wiring diagrams, schematics and ladder logic diagrams in the function and use to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Perform assigned duties as part of a team.
  • Assist with equipment and system power installations, systems or equipment modifications, including validation and qualification procedures.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established company policies, procedures and regulations contained in cGMP’s, safety standards or standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to operate a manlift as needed.
  • Performs other duties, activities, or responsibilities as directed or assigned within the scope of this position.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:

Various hand and power tools as per training administered. Electrical test meters.

Reports to: Mechanical Manager

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • Satisfactory completion of a four(4) year certified electrical/electronic apprenticeship program. Program must have entailed a minimum of 8,000 OJT training hours and (600) technical training hours
Experience or Equivalent:
  • Four(4) years equivalent experience as an electrician , electronic technician, electro-mechanical maintenance technician in the pharmaceutical or packing industry with equivalent technical training.
