Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 1 or Level 2 focused on electrical systems. The Electrical Systems Engineer serves as a bridge between Systems Engineering and Electrical Design, requiring a strong grasp of system-level requirements and electrical interfaces to help define architecture, timing, and verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Government Secret security clearance.
• Experience with electrical systems engineering, requirements, and architecture/ICD definition.
• Ability to read and author system-level electrical requirements and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the system electrical architecture (power distribution, buses, interfaces).
• Define electrical interfaces between subsystems and ensure compatibility with system requirements.
• Participate in trade studies on architecture, components, and interfaces.
• Analyze and define communication flows across electrical/data buses (bandwidth, latency, timing).
• Coordinate with subsystem owners to align timing and data exchange with performance needs.
• Translate system requirements into electrical/interface requirements and ensure traceability.
• Review requirements and ICDs to identify gaps and propose corrective actions.
• Facilitate cross-team communication among Systems, Electrical, Avionics, Software, and I&T teams.
• Contribute to electrical verification plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
• Support HW bring-up, interface checkout, and end-to-end tests with requirements context.
