Job summary

MPR Associates, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer for full‑time positions in our US offices (Alexandria, VA; East Lyme, CT; Burlington, MA; Salt Lake City, UT). You will design power systems, create diagrams and specifications, and ensure compliance with NFPA 70, IEEE, and NERC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited university required.
• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) degree a plus.
• At least three (3) years of work experience in electrical power systems.
• Familiarity with IEEE standards and NERC regulations.
• Experience with electrical power system analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs for power systems and select equipment.
• Create drawings, diagrams, specifications, and layouts.
• Validate designs against NFPA 70, IEEE, NERC, ISO standards.
• Perform power system analysis including load flow and short circuit studies.
• Investigate failures and evaluate improvements for reliability.
• Prepare procurement specifications for major equipment.
• Supervise design verification testing and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with instrumentation and controls teams on integrated systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate with clients.
