Job summary

MPR Associates, Inc. is seeking Lead Electrical Power Engineers for full-time positions at our East Lyme, Connecticut office (as well as Alexandria, VA and Burlington, MA).

Engineers will contribute to and lead projects spanning design, analysis, specification, testing and failure investigations of power systems for utility, commercial, and federal clients. The role requires at least 5 years in electrical power systems, strong analytical skills, and experience with IEEE/NERC standards and tools

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from an ABET-accredited university.
• 5+ years work experience in electrical power systems.
• Familiarity with IEEE standards and NERC regulations.
• Experience using electrical analysis tools (MATLAB, ETAP, PSCAD, ANSYS).
• Ability to lead projects and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead electrical power system analysis and design efforts.
• Engage with clients including engineering, management, maintenance, and quality teams.
• Conduct AC/DC studies: load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and transient stability.
• Evaluate power system components against standards and regulations.
• Oversee procurement, testing, installation, and commissioning of equipment.
• Develop design submittals, drawings, manuals, and review evaluations.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage multiple projects.
