Job summary

MPR Associates, Inc. is seeking Electrical Systems Engineers to join our multi-office team (Alexandria, VA; East Lyme, CT; Burlington, MA; Salt Lake City, UT).

You will lead design, analysis, testing, and commissioning of power systems for utility, commercial, and federal projects. Successful candidates will contribute to and supervise design verification, documentation, and client communications, while collaborating with instrumentation and controls teams across diverse projects and lifecycle

Qualifications

• BSEE from ABET-accredited university is required.
• MSEE is a plus.
• At least 3 years of experience in electrical power systems.
• Familiarity with IEEE/NERC standards desired.
• Experience using electrical power system analysis tools (MATLAB, ETAP, EMTPRV, PSCAD, ANSYS).
• CAD tools experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical designs for power systems including technology selection for inverter-based resources.
• Create single line diagrams, interconnection diagrams, drawings, specifications, and layouts.
• Validate designs against NFPA 70, IEEE, NERC, ISO and local utility standards.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and transient studies.
• Lead equipment procurement specifications and testing/commissioning activities.
• Prepare design reports and technical submittals; support clients and project teams.
