Job summary

Tighe & Bond is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the Electrical Systems Design Team in offices across Massachusetts, including Westwood. The internship offers a hybrid work environment and exposure to vital infrastructure projects in the Northeast.

Responsibilities include aiding design of electrical systems, supporting studies, and performing calculations. Ideal candidates are pursuing Electrical or Power Engineering and aim to pursue FE/EIT certification.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
• Previous coursework or relevant experience in electrical system design, lighting design or fire/security alarm design.
• Interest in pursuing the FE Exam and EIT certification.
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve engineering problems.
• Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design of electrical systems for new construction and building renovations including control wiring and circuit design, lighting design, and fire/security alarm design.
• Support arc flash and coordination studies, power quality analysis researching, examining a wide variety of structure related data.
• Perform engineering calculations, proofreading, and copying of various reports and specifications.
• Participate in construction site visits and field surveys of existing electrical systems.
