Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Intern in Boston. This hybrid internship requires at least 3 days in the office each week, with preference for a minimum 3-month engagement.

The role offers exposure to field surveys, CAD work, and power system design for transit terminals, municipal buildings, and light commercial facilities. Undergraduate and graduate students in Electrical Engineering will be mentored by experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience with

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation CAD software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and be mentored in all aspects of building and facility electrical design.
• Conduct field surveys, calculations, and CAD tasks.
• Prepare power systems diagrams, schematics, wiring drawings, and equipment layouts.
• Design grounding grids, lighting, and power distribution systems.
• Interface with railway clients, utility reps, and STV departments.
• Develop designs into construction documents under guidance of a Senior Engineer.
• Provide designs and calculations for power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Participate in all project phases from planning through close-out.
• Coordinate utility service layouts, power generation/storage, and power system distributions.
• Use AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and Microsoft Word to assemble contract documents.
• Construct electrical system models in SKM, ETAP, and EasyPower.
