Base pay range

$85,150.00/yr - $153,925.00/yr

Description

Leidos is seeking a talented Electrical System Design Engineer to join our Defense Systems, Electrical Systems Department in Huntsville, AL. The role involves creating innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, supporting a variety of aerospace and military systems, including ground/air vehicles, missiles, radars, and space systems.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a learning environment that encourages technical growth and leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design of system-level electrical architecture
• Create block diagrams, system requirements, cable specifications, and drawings
• Parts selection and derating activities
• Hardware design verification and testing
• Support system integration activities

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• 8+ years of hardware system design experience (or 6+ years with MS)
• Experience with technical problem solving and root cause analysis
• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and system block diagrams
• Laboratory experience with instrumentation and testing
• Experience with cable design in Visio or Excel
• Willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading technical teams
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and IPC J-STD-001 standards
• Experience in military or aerospace hardware design
• High power applications experience
• Design experience with SolidWorks Electrical, Creo, or Draftsight
