Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Field Engineer in San Antonio, Texas to provide technical oversight and management for commissioning activities of Distributed Infrastructure Systems. The successful candidate will have over 6 years of experience in commercial and industrial settings, particularly with generators and switchgear. Responsibilities include ensuring quality communication, managing onsite changes, and troubleshooting electrical systems. The role involves extensive travel (up to 95%) and requires a strong understanding of electrical theory and effective problem-solving skills. Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience working with generators, ATS, and/or switchgear.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Document onsite changes to As-Shipped Drawings and Settings Files.
• Program and make edits to PLCs and generator controllers.
• Communicate professionally with coworkers and customers.
