Job summary

PowerSecure, Inc. seeks a Commissioning Technician to oversee field commissioning and engineering activities for distributed infrastructure systems.

You will serve as a bridge among client, PowerSecure engineering, service, and operations, ensuring high-quality, safe decisions and clear processes during field vetting. Requirements include 6+ years in commercial/industrial generator/ATS/switchgear work, PLC and protective relay experience, and willingness to travel up to 75–95%.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ years of commercial/industrial experience on generators, ATS, and/or switchgear.
• PLC, generator controller and protective relay experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Willing to travel overnight up to 75–95%.

Responsibilities

• Document onsite changes to As-Shipped Drawings and Settings Files.
• Program and edit PLCs, generator controllers, and protective relays.
• Understand power distribution systems and switchgear configurations.
• Follow project scopes to prevent scope creep.
• Develop and maintain project schedules.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and customers.
• Support field commissioning and start-up activities.
• Escalate issues to leadership promptly to protect quality and schedule.
